Padlet
Padlet is a simple and easy access tool for the student to do their research project. It'e free to sign up. But the free account just supports 3 Padlets. If you want to create more, the upgrade fee is start from $8.25/month.
To create a Padlet is easy.
1. Pick a layout style. There are six layout options that you could choose.
2. Set up. Enter the tittle of your Padlet, label it, pick a wall paper for it.
3. Add some columns. You name each column and add some passage under it later.
4. Research and write it down. Will talk about more details later.
-------------------- How to do the research? --------------------
Padlet allows you and students to use different ways to post your result of research.
1. Type the result.
Just simply type in what you found. You could also do cut and paste to the "Write something..." area. Please remind the students to paste the link of the resource, too.
You also could use other ways to add information and materials. The followings are the introduction.
2. Upload.
You click the upload button and upload the pictures, video or files from your computer.
3. Link.
You could paste different kinds of link after you click the link button. Padlet supports all kinds of URLs- images, YouTube, Google Drive, Soundcloud, articles, blogs, and so on.
4. Google.
This is a powerful function, especially for the young students. Padlet integrates google search here, which you could search images, video, gifs, and website. What you have to do is type the key words in the search bar, and it will google the information for you. Padlet even automatically integrates the information you picked to you post. It's very convenient for the students.
5. Snap.
You could use your webcam to take some photos here.
6. More.
You could add some drawing here. If you are using a phone or tablet, you could even record your voice and video here. This function is perfect for my Chinese students. I would love to have them to practice their Chinese, not only typing English. Typing Chinese is hard to learn, but recording their voice or video will be perfect.
What's more?
The phone and tablet version also support handwriting typing. It's great for my Chinese students to write Chinese, for it's hard for them to learn typing Chinese in the beginning.

1. Easy access.
It's very simple to use and student-friendly. It integrate the google search function which is great for the young students to use.
2. Could record voice and use handwriting.
If you use phone or tablet version, Padlet supports voice and video recording. You also could handwrite the Chinese and type Chinese.
-------------------- What's the disadvantage? --------------------
1. Only three free Padlet.
If you want to create more padlet, you have to pay at least $8.25 per month.
2. Add one thing per time.
The research function only support one kind of editing per post. After you finish uploading, or googling, or adding some other materials, all the function buttons disappear. If you want to add more things, you have to create one more post.
